A few of sepiaEYE Artists have been selected to exhibit at the renowned Noorderlicht Photofestival. 2017’s theme is NUCLEUS | Imagining Science. NUCLEUS showcases works by artists that utilize and are inspired by science.

Osamu James Nakagawa‘s collaboration with geophysicist Michael Wile Hamburger SEISMOPHOTOGRAPHY: IMAGES OF NATURAL DISASTER, brings together seismology and photography in their explorations of the sites devastated by the 2011 earthquake and tsunami.

Beatrice Pediconi‘s Alien, “translates scientific studies and observations in fleeting, meditative and spatial paintings, which she captures in photographs – including polaroid and pigment prints – and videos.” LINK

The works in the exhibition address the “cataclysmic contemporary climate” or, as the curator also defines it, the “bad new days” as a reference to the quote by Bertolt Brecht: “Don’t start with the good old days, but the bad new ones.”

Beatrice Pediconi in La Gioia, Brussels, and Ephemeral Pigments, NYU

Beatrice Pediconi’s work will be included in La Gioia at Maison Particulière Art Center. The exhibition focuses on work from Italy through the eyes of three important collectors.

At New York University’s Institute of Fine Arts, the Display Cases in the Great Hall will feature Pediconi’s polaroids. Ephemeral Pigments features works from a few of her series exploring pigment, oil, and movement over a liquid tableau.
