Dr. Paul Sternberger and Esa Epstein have recently indexed and arranged 3,000 work prints by Bhupendra Karia that were made in Bombay between 1968 and 1970. Focusing on the craft movement, architecture, portraiture, and city scenes of India, the prints, organized by negative number, provide us with a day-by-day visual chronicle of Karia’s travels.

Bhupendra Karia and Serena Chopra’s works are included in Magazzino delle Idee’s survey exhibition Contemporary India, 18 photographers from Ghandi until today, curated by Fillipo Maggia.

Karia’s Population Crisis series set in Bombay will be highlighted in the conference: “The Emotional lives of Cities: Pandemic, Protest, and Urban Life.” Featuring speakers from Monash University, The University of Queensland, and the University of Sydney, this public forum and development seminar will re-examine how we inhabit cities and how societal and climate crises will effect our future.

The Delhi Photo Festival 2015 (October 30 – November 8) will feature the exhibition Transitions and Trajectories: Photographs by Bhupendra Karia in conjunction with Apparoa Galleries at The Lodhi, Lodhi Road, New Delhi. The exhibition which has been mounted in Mumbai and Jodhpur will now be on display at the Lodhi until 15 December 2015.
