Sundaram (born 1943) is one of the few consistently conceptualist artists of his generation in India, having gravitated from his accomplished practice as a painter in the early 1990s towards working with assemblage, photography, video and installation.  In his current work Trash, Sundaram focuses on the archaeology of leftovers and the anthropology of trash through his videos and photographic works.
