Annu Palakunnathu Matthew and Vivan Sundaram in POSTDATE

Postdate: Photography and Inherited History in India has traveled to the Ulrich Museum of Art in Wichita, Kansas from the San Jose Museum of Art. Join curator Jodi Throckmorton at the Ulrich on November 18th at 5:30pm for a talk examining the complex relationship between traditions of representation in India and contemporary practices of images making.

Matthew has also recently been awarded the 2015-‘17 Silvia Chandley Professorship in Nonviolence and Peace Studies from the University of Rhode Island. Congratulations, Annu!

Matthew’s An Indian from India series as well as her video installation, Open Wound and works from Sundaram’s Re-Take of Amrita and an installation of Indira’s Piano were on view alongside works by Gauri Gill, Jitish Kallat, Pushpamala N., Raqs Media Collective are on view.
